How we Make

our Lavender Essential Oils

We make our oil the old-fashioned way in small batches:

no highly-mechanised farming here.

1. Growing

Our lavender is grown on land adjacent to Loch Leven in Kinross-shire. No pesticides, insecticides, or fertilisers come into contact with the plants.

2. Harvesting

We hand-cut our blooms to avoid damage caused by alternative harvesting techniques. It also allows us to protect our bees.

3. Distillation

The blooms are then taken directly into our workshop 100 metres from the fields where they are steamed.

Did You Know?

Our 100% copper alembic still was hand-built in Portugal and allows us to produce an exceptional quality of oils.

4. Oil Extraction

The pressure in the Copper Still causes the blooms to burst and release the oil.

This Oil-Water pressurised mixture then travels through a series of copper pipes to cool and liquefy.

5. Bottling

The Lavender Essential Oil is separated and bottled ready for you to enjoy!

What Else do we Use our Oil for?

Our pure lavender oils are used both in lcosmetics grade manufacturing and for individual holistic practices.

We work to satisfy the needs of your project on a case-by-case basis.
